Healthy Holiday Habits

The holidays are one of the most popular times of the year for parties, thrown by coworkers, friends and family.  Party-goers let loose for the night and indulge, often a bit too much.  Here are a few tips for enjoying the holiday parties without losing control.

  • Work out more often. Add an extra 10 minutes to your normal exercise routine, and get moving every day.
  • Eat before you go. Make sure to eat normally before attending a holiday party so you don’t show up hungry.
  • Skip appetizers. Although appetizers are meant to be pre-dinner snacks, eating just a few of the munchies can cost someone a whole meal’s worth of calories.  
  • Go easy on the drinks. Even some “small” indulgences add hundreds of extra calories and lots of sugar.
