What is walking pneumonia?

Pnuemonia can take on many forms, from contagious to non-contagious, traumatic, chemical and more. Perhaps the most commonly talked about form of pneumonia is “walking” pneumonia. But what does that mean?

In short, walking pneumonia presents symptoms mild enough to which the person affected can still perform daily activities.

Symptoms:

  • Cough with little mucus
  • Sore throat
  • Headache
  • Fatigue
  • Weakness
  • Mild flu-like symptoms

Treatment:

Often times, walking pneumonia will clear on its own, however, your doctor may prescribe antibiotics or suggest an over-the counter medication. Always consult your doctor before using medicine.
