Mother’s Day has more meaning for the Anderson family in Murfreesboro. Last fall, Dena Anderson was diagnosed with breast cancer through the Saint Thomas “Mission in Motion” Mobile Mammography Unit at her workplace. She has no family history and every mammogram before had come back negative. Luckily, the cancer was caught early but because of the size and location of the tumor, Anderson had to have a mastectomy. She’s now in the process of getting reconstructive surgery. Even so, she feels fortunate she’s alive today to be with her husband and two kids.
